The exhibition at the drill hall gallery on Michele Maurin was incredible. The way she produced the black and white prints and then selected areas for colouring draws in the viewer and gives an extended appreciation for the process that she has gone through.
The images that really striked me were some of the Hong Kong images. The female in the hotel window was probably my favourite lot of the whole series. The form of the body positioned in the window as well as the lighting complement each other in a very beatiful way. I had a look on her website where i found more interesting images that she has taken. There is something very subtle about her work which draws in your gaze more than ordinary forms of colour photography.
